Course Description

You are responsible for a foreign branch of an international organisation, with a different work ethic, culture and language. You are an entrepreneur about to set up your own business in a market that is governed by completely different legislation than what you are used to. Or you have been commissioned to introduce a new product to a market in which the media landscape, consumer behaviour and your competitors are entirely different in comparison to your home country. Are you the sort of person who relishes challenges like these? If so, prepare yourself to take them up by completing the International Business and Management Studies (IBMS) programme at the International Business School. The International Business School prepares you for a career in the global mobile workforce.

International Business and Management Studies (IBMS) offers students an in depth insight into managing or setting up a company in today’s competitive global marketplace. We give you the opportunity to specialise in functional areas like Entrepreneurship, Financial Management, Global Trade & Logistics, Organisation Leadership & Change or Strategic Marketing Management. Additionally, you may opt for a regional specialisation, for example, Asia, Latin America or Europe. In addition to the knowledge you will acquire, the programme pays great attention to your personal and professional development.

Career Opportunities

As an IBMS-graduate you are a valuable asset to employers as you have acquired a solid theoretical understanding of business administration and will be able to convert these theories into practice and actual products. During your studies you will have already built a valuable network and will be able to fulfil an international function at management level in the business-to-consumer or business-to-business sector.

Admission Criteria

In order to be admitted to the IBMS programme you will need to have completed secondary education at a level equivalent to the Dutch havo, vwo or International Baccalaureate. In some cases additional requirements may be requested.

Our aim is to make your international study a real international experience by welcoming international and Dutch students. In order to do so, IBMS has a selection procedure (decentral selection). This means a certain number of students per academic year will be able to commence their studies. To ensure an international study environment, students with international experience are given priority in the selection and admission process.
