Dentistry and Dental Prosthodontics
All Italian dentistry degrees take six years to complete.
Admission is based completely on performance in the university's entrance exam. Until 2023 this has been the IMAT exam offered by Cambridge International Exams. This has been discontinued. We believe that it will be replaced with the TOLC exam that is quite well-known in Italy.
If you performed strongly in the UCAT or the BMAT then you might be able to get a place at Siena but if this was the weakness in your application in the UK then you are unlikely to be successful here. Conversely, if you performed fine in your tests but maybe didn't interview well, this could be a route for you. A level grades are not important in and of themselves but students who are strong in biology and chemistry will be at an advantage.
There are only 10 places available for non-Italian students.
As we aim to assist students in getting a place at dental school, this is far too risky in our opinion, unless you are prepared to accept the possibility of an unplanned gap year if you don't get a place. Siena might very well be your first choice but you need to have a Plan B.
