Course Description:

This is the right programme for anyone who loves languages, would like to study German, English, French, Italian, Russian, Spanish or Swedish and wants to expand their horizons by exploring the literature, history or current social issues of these countries and Europe as a whole.

Students learn to speak, read and write your chosen language fluently and gain a profound understanding of the culture of the region. You will also study the language and culture in the context of other European languages and cultures, European history, literature and politics. Students will first encounter this approach during the three introductory course units: Language and Society, Culture and Literature and Politics and Society.

The lectures and seminars will help you to decide which of the three subjects interests you the most, before you choose your main profile. Furthermore you can choose from interesting Minors and electives. In your third year, you will spend a semester studying abroad.
