Florida State University - Florence Campus
For over 40 years FSU students have had the opportunity to study the humanities and Italian culture in one of the most-visited cities in the world.
The Study Centre, housed in the 15th-century Alessandri Palace, is just a short stroll from major city monuments like the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio, and the Uffizi Gallery.
Classrooms, administrative offices, a well-stocked library, and a computer lab are located in this striking Renaissance palace, equipped with all the modern comforts and the latest technology.
The study centre's facilities are divided between the two wings of Palazzo Alessandri, located at Borgo degli Albizi, 15. The wings are referred to as the Old Wing and the New Wing. The New Wing houses the offices of the director, faculty and staff, as well as two large classrooms. The Old Wing, across the courtyard, houses the library, computer lab, and student lounge on the second floor, and two classrooms on the third floor.
Student housing is provided on the south side of the Arno River, adjacent to the elegant Boboli Gardens and the Pitti Palace, allowing students to discover a different side to this magical city.
Students studying on the FSU Florence Program enjoy small classes and lectures that are often held on site. In addition to a strong academic program, cultural events are regularly organized, and volunteering is encouraged as a means to connect students to the local community.
