DigiPen Institute of Technology Europe-Bilbao is DigiPen’s second international campus and first campus in Europe.

DigiPen Institute of Technology is a pioneer in game education committed to providing an exemplary education and furthering research in digital media and interactive computer technologies. Through the work of its students, faculty, and staff, DigiPen strives to empower and inspire the digital media and simulation industries around the globe. DigiPen Europe-Bilbao joins the school's Redmond, WA (USA), and Singapore campuses in pursuit of this goal.

DigiPen is the first school in the world to offer a bachelor's degree in game development, and its students are among the most celebrated in the industry. Since 2001, DigiPen students have won 27 awards at the annual Independent Games Festival (IGF), more than any other school in the world. Furthermore, DigiPen is one of the only academic institutions in the world whose students' games have competed in the Professional category at the IGF.

As the video game and digital animation sectors continue to mature, DigiPen Europe-Bilbao aims to drive the growth of these industries, both in Basque Country and throughout Europe. The development of this sector will provide cutting-edge jobs and resources for people in this region and beyond. Additionally, the school will foster connections and strengthen relationships with industry-leading multinationals, attracting businesses and helping to cultivate a skilled workforce that will promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Basque County.

DigiPen has a long history with the game industry. Many of its professors and executives have held prominent positions at companies like Nintendo, Microsoft, and Disney.

Because of their extensive professional experience, DigiPen's educators are able to teach a rigorous curriculum that meets the most current industry standards, giving students the knowledge and skills to thrive in a professional studio environment.

DigiPen's degree programmes encourage a deep, fundamental understanding of the underlying concepts of game development. Instead of just teaching students to use current tools, DigiPen's programmes teach the foundational principles of programming, design, art and animation, preparing students to become innovators rather than simply users of technology. That depth of knowledge means that DigiPen graduates excel in careers both inside and outside the games industry.
