Civil Engineering
Course description
This programme takes four years to complete.
For centuries, the Netherlands has been a frontrunner in new developments in the field of coastal defence. The HZ Bachelor of Civil Engineering specializes in Coastal Engineering.
The Bachelor programme has a broad perspective and is targeted to infrastructure. The emphasis is on designing constructions, an important component being road construction and hydrology.
As a civil engineer you manage large-scale national and international projects, such as the construction or the design of bridges, roads and dykes, or maybe even tunnels, islands and airports in front of the coast.
You learn all about technical drawings, land surveying and hydrology. As a future civil and environmental engineer, you will learn how to design the dikes and dunes that will protect us in the future, and keep our feet dry in delta and coastal areas.
