Is this programme for you?

Are you fascinated by religion, other cultures and societies? Do you want to increase your understanding of the world around you? Do you want to know which influence various religions play on society and people? Are you open to different religious beliefs? If you love reading and are interested in history, sociology, psychology, philosophy, politics and cultural anthropology, then our BA Religious Studies programme is the right choice for you.

How did Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism arise? Which role do these religions play in different cultures and conflicts? Most cultures are profoundly shaped by religious phenomena. In fact, six billion people in the world define themselves as religious. Globalisation and migration have changed our societies drastically; nowadays different religions and cultures co-existing alongside each other, which in turn can result in frictions. A critical understanding of religion is essential to find solutions to these complex, yet essential issues.
