Why study American Studies with the University of Groningen?
The University of Groningen is the only university in the Netherlands to offer an accredited and fully English-taught American Studies programme in The Netherlands.
What distinguishes our degree from all other similar programs is its interdisciplinary nature. The traditional approach focuses on only two perspectives: history and literature. At the University of Groningen, students explore America from a range of perspectives: popular culture, history, literature, politics, economics, religion and race.
During the programme, you will have the opportunity to experience the USA first-hand by spending a semester abroad at one of our exchange partner universities.
How to apply
The minimum entry requirements for this programme are three A-levels.
