About the programme
International Sports, Management and Business is a four-year degree programme with a strong focus on business and management within the international sports industry. You will learn to research, plan, organise, lead, manage and evaluate the business of sport. In the first two years, you’ll also participate in a variety of sports to further develop your management and interpersonal skills.

Curriculum
First year: orientation and event management
The first year starts with an introduction to sport management and general topics that will prepare you for the rest of your degree. You’ll also get to opportunity to participate in two international field trips.
In the second half of the year, you will focus on event management. Throughout the year, you’ll also practice a range of sports to learn specific management skills and expand your knowledge of a wide range of sports.
Second year: planning and project management
The second year puts the focus on planning and project management to develop your organisational skills and help you learn more about the various business aspects related to sport. You will get the chance to put these new skills into practice with a 10-week international internship, and will continue to gain exposure to a variety of sports.
In this year, you will also complete a 10-week, full-time internship abroad, focusing on a project management assignment within the sports industry. The organisation and location is completely up to you!
Third year: entrepreneurship and strategic management
The third year curriculum is centred on training you to become a future professional in the world of sport. For the first half of the year you will complete a minor (Sport Management or High Performance Sport). For the second half of the year, you will become an entrepreneur by creating and launching your own company. Throughout the year, you will continue to study a range of business-related subjects.
Fourth year: internship and graduation project
In the first half of your final year, you’ll complete a full-time internship abroad. In the second half of the year, you’ll conclude your study with a graduation project.
Entry requirements
To be admitted to Sport Studies - track International, Sports, Management and Business (ISMB) you need to have three A Levels or BTECs in relevant subjects. Due to the limited number of study places, a selection day is part of the admission procedure.
