Overview

The European Franco-German Undergraduate programme addresses the relationships between Europe, the Middle East and the Mediterranean region, in a multidisciplinary approach and a unique methodology to Sciences Po.

Two years are spent in Nancy and the 3rd year abroad in one of our 410 partner universities or in an internship. After graduating students can join the Paris campus for the master’s degree, or continue studies at another university in or outside France.

The curriculum aims to provide students with a comparative understanding of these two European systems studied through a rigorous teaching of five core social science subjects delivered by an international faculty: Economics, History, Law, Political Science, and Sociology.

Language Requirements & Objectives

Within the programme there are two branches, which differ by their linguistic prerequisites:

  • The Trilingual European Programme (French, German and English) proposes a curriculum in three languages. Candidates must present a minimum level B2 (Common European Framework of Reference: Learning, Teaching, Assessment) in French and German, as well as a B1 level in English. Courses are taught in these three languages. Under certain conditions, students can also take language classes in Arabic, Russian, Swedish, Italian or Spanish.
  • The Bilingual European Programme (German and English) with Intensive French Classes offers a German-English curriculum. Candidates must have a good command of German and English (B2) and present basic knowledge in French (A2). During the first year on campus, courses are taught in German and English, and students follow intensive French classes, which allows them to study in three languages during their second year.

The Nancy Campus is an international campus and also offers a double Bachelor Degree Programmes with Freie Universität (Berlin).
