European summer schools? It’s time to rethink your university destinations.

American University of Paris students

The increased range of English-taught degree programmes at European universities means going to a UK university is no longer an obvious choice among British students. Choosing whether to study abroad, however, can be difficult if you have no experience with universities overseas. It isn’t easy to find time during the academic year for a trip abroad to attend a university open day. Neither is deciding if an international university is right for you after a one-day visit.

Summer schools offer a perfect solution. Spending two or three weeks studying and living at a European university is a fantastic way to explore if you are a good fit there.

Many top European universities will open their doors to high school students in July, giving you the opportunity to experience a snapshot of university life abroad. New friends, new country, new you. It will be truly a unique and transformative experience. A summer abroad isn't just about your studies - it's about being inspired, challenged and growing as a person. It will also help you develop suitable strategies when it comes to choosing the right university in the future.

Here is a selection of the very best summer schools in Europe. All of them are fully taught in English and open to motivated students around the world.
