If you are interested in studying the human body in the minutest detail (right down to cell level), and if you can think logically and enjoy doing experiments, then life Sciences and Technology is the right degree for you. The programme includes pure sciences and a lot of interesting lab work.

At one point in time, life originated on earth. Over time it has evolved to establish the diversity of species that exist today. Life scientists aim to explore how the principles of Biology can be applied in science, medicine and society, by combining principles of chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology.

Life Science and Technology is a hugely varied field of study, so you can specialise in the area that appeals to you the most. you can choose between Behavior and Neuroscience., Molecular Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences and Biomedical Engineering.

Our BSc is a unique programme at the interface of the technology and healthcare sectors.

Thanks to our close collaboration with the University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG), we have a strong biomedical technology specialisation. The emphasis of the programme is on health and potential medical applications for our research.

How to apply

The minimum entry requirements of this programme are three A-levels to include Maths, Physics or Chemistry. At least two of these subjects must be at A-level, the others at AS-level.

Career opportunities

Researcher with a manufacturer of medical aids, insurance company policy advisor, teacher in secondary or higher education, project leader in a pharmaceutical company, consultant with a technical company, researcher in the public or private sector.
